ABOUT

As you know, some cooking shows travel the world to find the exotic. But Canada, especially Ottawa, is home to many ethnicities and embraces them whole-heartedly. Its culture has been formed by an exciting mixture of different experiences from all over the world. And, food is the perfect way to demonstrate and celebrate this.

In Grandma vs. Chef, our cook must cook Grandma’s signature dish under her careful eye. The catch? She cannot touch the food.

If you love good food, Grandmas, and chefs, watch seasons 1 (in English) and 2 (in French) on Bell Fibe 1!

Creator and co-producer Katia Sinchenko is a producer from Ukraine, now relocated to Ottawa, with experience on some of the top reality shows in Ukraine and Russia. She even worked with Ukraine’s president Volodomir Zelensky on one of the shows.

Co-producer Heidi Lasi is excited to be working on a cooking show - something she’s wanted to do since watching the Galloping Gourmet on reruns when she was a kid. She loves food, the fun, light-hearted nature of Grandma vs. Chef, and working with talented folks here in Ottawa.
